Be Malala, Be Different

Be Different, Be Malala

Education is important to Malala because, where she lives girls aren’t expected or allowed to have an education.
For a start, Malala has to go into hiding when she goes to school so the Taliban don’t see her. “The uniform I once loved made me feel like a criminal.” With this in her mind, she is saying her school uniform feels foreign to her, like it doesn’t belong, like what the other people say about girls not being allowed to go to school true.
To tell the truth, Malala’s mother didn’t have an education since she wasn’t required or allowed to, like most wives, knowing this Malala wanted to be different. “ Even my own mother, who’d grown up in the village, couldn’t read.” This statement is said by Malala, this also shows what kind of education system they have in Pakistan.
These were a handful of reasons why I speculate education is critical to Malala.
